Hey Poor Podcast Episode 55: Callback Love Sack

Yes, we are aware that’s not actually how you spell it.

hey poor podcast

On-topic talking points: Pokemon Sun and Moon, a new batch of NX rumors, Kanye West’s questionable album title plans, Foul Play, Kid Dracula, We are the Dwarves, Pokemon Red and Blue, Fire Emblem Fates, Far Cry Primal, Superhot, The Witch and the Hundred Knight: Revival Edition, Fallout 4, Zheroes, Scrudd the DIsposable Assassin, Goofy’s Hysterical History Tour, Sherlock Holmes: Consulting Detective, Contra: Hard Corps, Firewatch, Minecraft on Vita, Shardlight, and Pokemon Alpha Sapphire.

Yo, so let’s be real here. This is the first episode where we’ve ever been running video chat while recording. As a result, we’re all seeing each other’s actual, real-life faces as we talk. How cool is that! No seriously, how cool is that? Like, on a scale of 1 to 10? If the dynamic sounds a little different than usual on this week’s episode, now you know why. Enjoy!

Anyway, this week on the Hey Poor Podcast: Jay Petrequin is joined by Francis DiPersio, Alex Lupella, and podcast newcomers Anthony Spivey and Mike Vito, to talk news, listener questions, and games. Wherein it is revealed that Frank lives down the street from Alec Baldwin, who turns out to be a pretty shitty neighbor. Jay goes on a long and grueling quest to clench his white-knuckled fists around a Wii. Anthony’s grandmother is a timeless being, possibly as old as the universe itself. Alex eats a big ol’ Hoboken Squatcobbler that he stole off some housewife’s windowsill, and boy, is he making a mess. Mike has at least one Stanley Kubrick film tattooed onto his arm. Horror stories are told, of employment at terrible places such as Best Buy and Funcoland. Listen until the end to hear Frank tell a delicious, leafy story, stronger than red onion and thicker than bleu cheese dressing.

Jay Petrequin started writing at HeyPoorPlayer in the summer of 2012, but first got his start writing for It's Super Effective, a Pokemon podcast that happened to be a reflection of two of his biggest interests: pocket monsters, and making people listen to him say things.
