Insomniac Games trades in their wacky guns and explosions for a rickety submarine in upcoming Metroidvania title, Song of the Deep
Developer Insomniac Games today unveiled their latest game today, marking a departure for the studio who has previously shown a penchant for making over-the-top action and otherworldly weaponry play center stage in their releases such as the Ratchet & Clank and Resistance series of games. Dubbed “Song of the Deep”, the game is a Metroidvania-style adventure that stars Merryn, a young girl who is tasked with rescuing her father who has been trapped under the sea. Over the course of Merryn’s adventure, she’ll make friends, discover lost civilizations and ruins, and upgrade her custom-built submarine to explore even deeper beneath the ocean’s depths on her journey to rescue her father.
