Earn some extra credit with Battlefront’s new app
Although Star Wars Battlefront won’t be hitting shelves until November the 17th, EA has decided to roll out the game’s companion app a little early. The app, conveniently named ‘Star Wars Battlefront Companion’ is available to download at no cost on iOS, Android, and the web.
As one may expect, Battlefront Companion features a stat tracker, allowing players to check their progress and the progress of friends. But wait, there’s more! App users may also view their in-game card collection, customize the in-game load-out, and send and receive game invites.
Interestingly enough, the Battlefront app also features a mini-game. The game, named Base Command, seems to be a tower defense/card-based hybrid that challenges players to protect their Rebel bases from waves of Imperial Troops. By playing this game players can collect weapons, represented by Star Cards, power-ups, vehicles, and more. Credits can also be earned that can be used in both Battlefront, and Battlefront Companion. Credits in Battlefront itself may also be used in both.
EA has stressed that there will be absolutely no microtransactions in Base Command – a rarity for the company – and assures that all acquired Star Cards will remain in the player’s deck.
Downloading the app is as simple as searching your app store; get a head start while you can.
