Will Snake be sticking around for some more action?
According to a newly-released report, Konami has been internally discussing the possibility of another game in the Metal Gear Solid saga. Despite any previous rumors, it seems as though Konami may still be interested in the series. This news was revealed by the Japanese financial publication Nikkei.
Translated by Kotaku was a quote by a Konami representative, stating “when we start development, a large-scale investment will become necessary.” The involvement of the creator of the series, Hideo Kojima, is currently unknown. The rumors of Kojima leaving Konami has never been officially confirmed by Konami, however if they are true then it is most likely that he will not any say on this new game’s development.
Although series creator Hideo Kojima’s parting from Konami has never been officially confirmed, it’s a little hard to believe Konami, considering the news today that Kojima Productions LA has been shuttered, along with the previous loss of staff from Kojima Productions Japan. Only time will tell.
