Sega’s blue blur blazes onto the 3DS with 3D Sonic the Hedgehog 2

Sega has announced that 3D Sonic  the Hedgehog 2 is now available on the Nintendo 3DS eShop.

One of the most memorable games to ever grace Sega’s 16-bit Genesis console, this updated port of the hit 1992 title follows in the footsteps of Gunstar Heroes and Streets of Rage 2 in getting an extensive 3D conversion and faithful recreation of the game’s sounds and music.

3D Sonic the Hedgehog 2 is now available to feed your need for speed on the 3DS and is priced at $5.99.

In addition to the launch of 3D Sonic the Hedgehog 2, Sega has also announced the release of a slew of Sega hardware Nintendo 3DS themes in the Americas, with the Sega Genesis and Sega Game Gear hardware themes being the first available. These themes Feature imagery and sounds from these iconic systems.  The Sega Genesis and Sega Game Gear are are just the first consoles  the first to roll out; the following hardware themes will be released in the coming months including the Sega Saturn, Dreamcast, SG-1000 and more.

The Sega Hardware themes will be priced at $1.99 each.
