During their E3 2015 presentation, Activision has announced their plans to publish a new game set in the Transformers universe. Developed by PlatinumGames, Transformers: Devastation is an explosive new title from the Bayonetta and Vanquish developer featuring the cast of Transformers: Generations. The game is a third-person action-brawler with an extremely vibrant visual style.

Anyone who has spent five minutes with any of their previous releases knows that few studios do action games with the bombastic panache of PlatinumGames. The developer is a perfect fit for Transformers: Devastation’s dynamic, combo-fueled robot fisticuffs.

In Transformers: Devastation, players take control of one of five Autobots – Optimus Prime, Bumblebee, Sideswipe, Wheeljack and Grimlock and take part in no-holds-barred robot combat. Throughout the game, players unlock new skills, forge new weapons, and augment their characters to help them combat the evil forces of Megatron’s Decepticons,

PlatinumGames has implemented a flashy, cell-shaded visual style for the game, giving it a comic book feel. The game features a story inspired by the IDW comic book universe and includes the talents of legendary voice actors like Dan Gilvezan as Bumblebee, Frank Welker as Megatron and Soundwave, Gregg Berger as Grimlock, and Peter Cullen as Optimus Prime.

Transformers: Devastation is slated to be released later this year on the Xbox One, Xbox 360, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3 and PC later this year.
