GameStop employees inform customers Mortal Kombat X has been delayed, online release date shifts to year’s end
While fighting game fans have been cracking skulls in Mortal Kombat X for over a month now on the PlayStation 4, Xbox one and PC, last-gen console owners have had to patiently wait for their chance to tackle this blood-soaked slugfest. Originally slated for an April release, the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions of MKX were delayed until June 2, and if Kotaku’s latest reports are true, gamers may have to wait even longer to get their fatality fix.
According to Kotaku’s report, GameStop employees have been telling customers that the game has been delayed until the end of 2015. GameStop’s online listing for the game has shifted the June 2nd to a placeholder release date of 12/31/2015, which you can see below:
If this news its true, it’s certainly going to come as a serious disappointment to fans who’ve been patiently waiting for developer NetherRealm’s explosive entry in the long-running fighting game series (read our review here). We’ll be sure to share more details when the game’s publisher Warner Bros. makes an official announcement regarding the game’s apparent delay.
