With Strong Playstation 4 sales, Sony Expected to Reach the Summit by the End of the Year
Sony has revealed the Playstation 4 sales numbers have surpassed 22.3 million consoles sold, at the end of March. The corporation’s Game and Network Services segment has become the biggest earned, selling 14.8 million PS4’s for the financial year.
Sony’s full financial report highlights, raw revenue for the quarter has jumped 33 percent year-on-year, which amounts to 11.5 billion dollars this year.
PlayStation 4 sales are expected to stay steady, with 16 million more units sold in the next year. PSP and Vita combined have dropped from 4.1 million last year to 3.3 million this year. A big increase in network revenue and software sales has also helped with the steady decline in sales for the PS3 consoles and hardware.
The company pulled in an extra 576 million profit from it’s alternate business ventures, which in an additional 159 percent year-to-year. This is the biggest annual operating profit Sony has produced in seven years. It appears that CEO Kaz Hirai is propelling the electronics giant back on top, with profits projected to quadruple over the course of next year.
