Austrian publisher adds de Blob to its expanding list of THQ-published properties
Vienna based publisher Nordic Games has announced the acquisition of yet another THQ property this morning. closed an asset purchase agreement with THQ Inc. and THQ International GmbH to acquire the intellectual property “de Blob”.
“de Blob is just a great and truly unique franchise”, remarks Reinhard Pollice, Business & Product Development Director at Nordic Games. “We are excited about what the future holds for this polychromatic extravaganza as the newest addition to our portfolio. We will evaluate opportunities with the existing games, as well as potential sequels.”
Originally released on iOS and Wii in 2008, de Blog tasks players as its gooey titular hero to embark on a mission to re-animate the fictional place of Chroma City by splattering its monochromatic surface with vibrant colors.
De Blob 2 was released on PS3, Xbox 360 and Wii in 2011. The slimy sequel introduced a new 2D platforming mechanic in addition to the existing gameplay mechanics.
