Sega’s beloved infantry SRPG Valkyria Chronicles to rumble onto PC
It looks like the Edelweiss will soon be rolling out of retirement, ready to wage war in a foreign land. In an unexpected post on Twitter, Sega confirmed that Valkyria Chronicles, the cult-favorite Playstation 3 strategy RPG is getting ported to the PC. While many fans would likely much rather see an official localization of the Japan-exclusive Valkyria Chronicles III, this still comes as a welcome surprise, and shows that Sega hasn’t yet forgotten about the gorgeous and cerebral early PS3 classic.

While no specifics details were revealed, such as bonus content or a firm release date, Sega’s tweet says we’ll be hearing more about this welcome PC port soon.
Originally released in 2008, Valkyria Chronicles garnered acclaim for its clever mix of real-time movement and aiming and strategic, turn-based combat. While a pair of sequels were released for the PSP, with Valkryria Chronicles III was never released outside of Japan, making it the first game in the series never to see receive an English release (though it did receive a fan translation last year).
