5 Horror Games You've Probably Never Played

Halloween is just around the corner. With darkness overtaking the light earlier, and that bone-chilling cold setting in, now is the perfect time to barricade yourself in front of your gaming platform of choice and fight off the encroaching evil in your favorite horror titles. While it’s always easy to fall back on the requisite Resident Evils and Silent Hills to get your nightmare fix, we’ve compiled a list of several haunting horror games you probably haven’t heard of that deserve a spot in your fragile consciousness.

Man, you have no idea, seeing you list Alone in the Dark: A New Nightmare and Uninvited made me happy. No one these days would hear of such titles or play them. I had Uninvited on the Amiga computer as I was growing up and it was pretty spooky to me during those times, great nostalgia. The AotD game especially is the best-rated of the entire series which has now done nothing but kick the bucket essentially. Both AotD and Resident Evil, the original horror games are doing miserable, but New Nightmare was the one that I knew was an underrated horror classic that is underappreciated, it’s only flaw being really craptastic voice acting.

    • Glad I was able to hit you with a dose of nostalgia. Funny enough, the whole reason I put this list together was a serious urge to play Alone in the Dark: The New Nightmare on the ride to work yesterday. I’ll have to toss it in and finally wrap up the girl’s storyline, as I never played through her half way back when it was released.

As for Uninvited, I’ve always wanted to get my hands on the Amiga version. How does it stack up compared to the NES port?
