Independent developer Spellbind Studios today announced the development of its inaugural title, Rogue Wizards. The game, which is being touted as a rogue-like, dungeon-crawling, town-building RPG slated to release on PC, Mac, iOS, and Android platforms has been in development for over a year. Now, the studio is launching a Kickstarter campaign to support the game’s development via Kickstarter that runs until November 11.

This dungeon-delving game seems to be in good hands as well, considering studio head Collin Day already has experience in the genre since working on Diablo III, along with a slew of other noteworthy titles including Command & Conquer: Generals, Marvel Heroes, and Hellgate: London (though we won’t talk about that one).

“Spellbind’s Rogue Wizards is taking procedural rogue-likes in an exciting and thoroughly charming direction.” – Mike Booth: Game Director at Blizzard Entertainment, Creator and Designer of Nox and Left 4 Dead, Founder of Turtle Rock Studios.

Rogue Wizards will feature procedurally generated dungeons and loot, with no two weapons or areas ever being the same. The game will also feature turn-based combat that’s said to feel fast and furious while still requiring strategy and planning.

When you’re not delving into the game’s dark dungeons seeking loot, players can expand their town through the Wizard Tower, which allows players to brew their own reagents, craft and purchase equipment, powering enhance their magical abilities, and recruit allies to assist you in conquering the game’s dangerous underground dungeons.

Rogue Wizards is a game that I’ve dreamed of creating for a long time,” says Spellbind Studios Founder Colin Day. “With the help of a team of seasoned games industry professionals who have worked on successful titles and series such as Diablo 3, Marvel Heroes, Command & Conquer, Might and Magic, Heroes of Might and Magic, and Mechwarrior Mercenaries, to help me see through my passion, I’m confident that we will deliver to fans a memorable and rich experience they will enjoy for years to come.”
