Can you live to see the light?
Publisher Warner Bros. today released a new Gamescom gameplay trailer for developer Techland’s upcoming parkour-powered open-world zombie survival title, Dying Light.
The developer’s experience with the Dead Island series shines through in the latest trailer, as the player eviscerates countless undead with a creative array of zombie-annihilating weaponry- from the familiar axes, pistols, and carbines to the more imaginative, such as a cudgel that instantaneously engulfs the undead in flames to a lead pipe outfitted with a nasty electric charge.
While watching zombies get splattered is always a good time, the major draw for Dying Light seems to be the game’s highly kinetic focus on maneuvering around the game’s open-world urban setting. Utilizing a handy grappling hook, zip lines, and and your player’s natural agility, it looks like Dying Light’s survivors could be capable stunt doubles for any of Ubi’s assassin’s who might find themselves out of work due to a nasty slip and fall accident or just so happen to find themselves on the business end of a Templar sword.
Every time we get to see Dying Light in action we just get more and more excited to see what this ghoulishly gorgeous undead nightmare has to offer. Look for Dying Light to land on PS4, PS3, Xbox One, Xbox 360, and PC in February 2015.
