The Last Of Us: Remastered Requires 50GB HDD Space

Naughty Dog’s The Last Of Us: Remastered tips the scales with a 50GB Installation

It seems that bringing 1080p visual fidelity and silky smooth 60fps gameplay comes at a cost when it comes to bringing The Last of Us: Remastered to the Playstation 4. What exactly is the cost? Well, 50 gigs of HDD space, to be exact.

That’s according the the back of the box as shown in pictures posted by gamers who’ve gotten their hands on copies of the game that seem to have been released ahead of the game’s July 30th release date. Some of these brazen gamers have taken to Twitch to show off their gameplay of this enhanced port of Naughty Dog’s 2013 post-apocalyptic blockbuster, with at least one user’s feed being shut down.

While we’re happy to see Joel and Ellie’s tragic adventure through a world ravaged by a fungal pandemic brought to Sony’s new black box in grand fashion, 50 gigs is certainly a big chunk of space. Hopefully this hulking install size doesn’t become the norm, as many gamers will be forced to upgrade their console’s storage solutions in no time if this keeps up.

So, what do you think of The Last Of Us: Remastered’s scale tipping installation size? Be sure to let us know in the comments below.
