NCSX opens pre-orders for Mother 2 figures sets

The 20th anniversary of Mother 2 ( or Earthbound, as it’s known to us sentient red, white and blue apple pie constructs) is just a round the corner. That means is the perfect time for Japanese toy makers to whip up some new limited edition collectibles for rabid fans of Hal Laboratory’s cult classic RPG to adorn their geeked-out desks and bookshelves. Thankfully, toy manufacturer Takara Tomy is happy to oblige, releasing a collection of five figures based on the main characters in the game.

These gachapon-or capsule toys- include Ness, Paula, Jeff, Poo, and the marvelous Mr. Saturn. Measuring at just 2.55 inches for the tallest (the proud warrior Poo) and just under 2 inches for the shortest (Mr. Saturn), these figures look like small but infectiously cute representations of the Super Nintendo classic’s quirky cast.

For those of us who aren’t able to make our way to the neon-saturated streets of Akihabara to spend exorbitant amounts of cash trying to score a set of these toys the good old fashioned way, online retailer NCSX is making the entire Mother 2 Figures set available for pre-order, with orders set to ship this October. You can secure your set now for $22.90. If you’re thinking of adding these to your collection, you better act fast. I don’t imagine it’ll take long before these super deformed bits of plastic will be worth as much as gold bullion.

Plan on picking these Mother 2 figures up? Is there another character from the Mother universe you’d like to see immortalized in cheap plastic? Let us know in the comments below.
