Double Fine Confirms Grim Fandango To Release On PC, Linux, and Mac

Double Fine confirms Grim Fandango reboot destined for PC, Linux, and Mac too

PC adventure aficionados who’ve been holding their breath since it was revealed at E3 that Grim Fandango would be making a can finally exhale triumphantly. Developer Double Fine confirmed today that the upcoming reboot of the beloved series, previously announced at last month’s E3 for the Playstation 4 and Vita, will in fact be getting a PC release.

This will surely come as a relief to PC gamers who fondly remember LucasArts’ 1998 point-and-click classic. Starring Manuel “Manny” Calavera, a travel agent at the Department of Death in the city of El Marrow, who is forced into his job to work off a debt “to the powers that be”. While a critical success, Grim Fandango was released at a time of waning popularity for the once thriving adventure genre, and thus, was a commercial flop. With today’s resurgence of the genre, thanks in no small part due to the likes of Kickstarter and the proliferation of tablet gaming, now is the perfect time for this skeleton to shamble out of the industry’s closet and into the hearts of a new generation of PC gamers.

So, what platform do you plan on picking up Grim Fandango on? As always, be sure to let us know in the comments below.
