Defenders of Eorzea brings new skills, quests, and chocobo raising to Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn
Square Enix announced today that the latest, full featured patch has made its way to Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn. Defenders of Eorzea (or patch 2.3 if your fantasy realm lexicon can’t discern Azeroth from Vana’diel these days) brings a host of new skills to master, quests to undertake and dungeons to explore. Additionally, the highly anticipated private housing and chocobo raising features have also made their way into this latest update.
The 2.3 Patch also introduces the new Frontline mode, a three-faction PVP where up to 72 players can duke it out in head-to head combat. The skirmishes in this mode take place within the boarders of Carteneau, as Eorzea’s nations battle to take hold of the sought after Allagan Ruins.

More about Defenders of Eorzea:When the world is thrown into chaos, who will rise to defend those too weak to defend themselves? The Sahagin summoned Leviathan, Lord of the Whorl, that the unbridled fury of the sea would wash away those who would threaten their livelihood. Eorzea’s people turned to the Warriors of Light, who drove this sinister serpent back into the briny deep. Now, new voices can be heard. From the deserts of Thanalan, to the verdant woods of the Black Shroud, to the snowy peaks of Coerthas, these voices cry out for a champion. Who will heed their call as the defender of Eorzea?
