Focus Home Interactive and Streum On Studio (the guys who made E.Y.E. Divine Cybermancy, a game which is fairly well loved but which I hated) have confirmed that Space Hulk: Deathwing, a shooter developed in Unreal Engine 4, is coming to Xbox One, PS4, and PC sometime next year.
You play as Deathwing, a Librarian of the Dark Angels Space Marine chapter. Space Hulks are one of the coolest facets of Warhammer 40,000 lore — these giant, derelict amalgamations of ship wreckage and asteroid debris can grow to be the size of a small planet, and often contain relics of the distant past. They’re also quite commonly breeding grounds for The Genestealers, a race which does exactly what you would think.
I’m all for having a good Warhammer 40,000 game that isn’t developed by Relic. I really hope that’s what this shapes up to be.
That trailer sure is gorgeous, though.
