Over the past 24 hours a British video game retailer website ShopTo.Net has posted a price for those really cool toys that Nintendo showed off at E3 called Amiibos. These Amiibo toys will be compatible with some of their games like Super Smash Bros. Wii U/3ds, Mario Kart 8, Yoshi’s Woolly World, Mario Party 10, and Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker. The first game that will be compatible with Amiibo is said to be the upcoming Super Smash Bros Wii U title.
ShopTo.Net has put a price point on the Amiibo toys at £12.85 a piece which translates to $21.88 and has listed seperate statues for Wii U and 3DS/2DS. Keep in mind this is not an official price because Nintendo has not released their official MSRP yet just a potential sign of things to come. If this ends up being the final price when they do go on sale, I personally think it is a bit steep. So let’s hope that price comes down a little when Nintendo finally does sound off on the price and that they get these bad boys come out sooner rather than later because who doesn’t like toys.
Just in case you needed an Amiibo refresher here is Nintendo’s E3 2014 video about them:
