Final Fantasy VII G Bike To Race Onto Smartphones This Fall

Rev up your engines and sharpen your buster sword, Final Fantasy VII G Bike will be racing its ways to smartphones this fall.

The game, which was revealed in this week’s Famitsu, is an updated port of the original racing title that appeared in Final Fantasy VII’s iconic Gold Saucer arcade. Final Fantasy VII G Bike will feature new mechanics such as the ability to jump and slide, along with new obstacles not present in the original game and the ability to customize your magical materia and use a variety of street shredding G bikes.

Final Fantasy VII G Bike is being co-developed by Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure: All Star Battle and Asura’s Wrath developer Cyberconnect2 and Square Enix.

According to the report, other Gold Saucer games are also in the works. Personally, I wouldn’t mind revisiting the submarine blasting minigame that robbed me of countless hours of my youth.

For those who need a refresher course on this highly addictive timesink, here’s a clip of the original minigame from Gold Saucer.
