In a surprise move driven purely by the logic of “because why not, I guess,” Nintendo has announced an upcoming bundle containing a white and red Nintendo 2DS and New Super Mario Bros 2, pre-downloaded on a 4 gig SD card. The game includes every piece of Coin Rush DLC ever released for the game, boasting over 80 additional levels to keep you occupied and collecting coins until you see gold wherever you go. As for now, this bundle is exclusive to the UK.

New Super Mario Bros. 2 is in many ways similar to the rest of its kind, with one special twist. Coin collecting is good for more than extra lives, and all coins you rake in within a level are added to a gran total, launching you along a golden path to 1 million coins. Helping you in this lucrative task are items like the Gold Flower, which lets you turn enemies into coins with gold fireballs, and the Gold Block, an extremely fashionable headpiece that spews coins everywhere for you to swipe up. The game also features 2-player co-op, for those who want a business partner in the moneymaking and adventure.

This bundle is set to launch on July 4th, and features the game plus all available DLC via SD card. So far the bundle is only being released in the UK, but an American release could be seen farther down the line. A price has yet to be announced, but it’ll surely be worth all the mountains of gold you’ll be collecting once your adventure is underway.
