Ubisoft has officially confirmed that their tech-savvy open-world game, Watch Dogs, will be seeing a worldwide release on May 27th.
If this release date sticks the game will be hitting retail shelves more than six months after its original delay last November. While the game has garnered a tremendous following since its announcement last year, the title has experienced a tumultuous past few months, what with the game’s trademark being fraudulently cancelled and supposed rumblings about the Wii U version of the hotly anticipated anticipated game being scrapped.
If all goes as planned we’ll be kicking off our Summer on the mean streets of a ctOS-dominated Chicago as vigilante-hacker extraordinaire Aiden Pearce when the game drops on the PS4, PS3, Xbox 360, Xbox One, and PC. Wii U owners will have to wait a little longer to get their hands on Watch Dogs (surprise!) as Ubisoft has only stated that the game will release “at a later date.”
If the long delay has dulled your excitement for the game, here’s an explosive new story trailer that’s sure to get you excited to strap on your super-powered cellphone and expandable baton and clean up the streets of The Windy City.
