Edge of Reality’s slapstick shooter unloads comical chaos on Steam today
Austin-based studio Edge of Reality’s debut title, the over the top shooter, Loadout, will be blasting its way onto Steam today at 6pm GMT. This fast-paced, kinetic shooter features extremely mobile gunplay and an insane emphasis on weapon customization, allowing players to utilize the game’s weapon crafting system to forge a truly devastating arsenal.
“With Loadout, we offer players a genuinely fresh and gratifying alternative to everyday shooters,” said Rob Cohen, CEO of Edge of Reality. “Allowing players to define their own class and play style with weaponcrafting took us somewhere truly special, and we can’t wait to see what players come up with.”
While Edge of Reality is a new studio, the team behind Loadout has worked on such successful franchises as Dragon Age, Mass Effect, Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater and The Sims. Not a bad pedigree for a game that prides itself in exceptionally mobile and customizable gunplay. As for the combat itself, expect plenty of slapstick shenanigans as players blast limbs from one another, expose vital organs, and tear each other apart like pixelated rice paper sacks in extremely exaggerated ways.
Loadout is free-to-play, so be sure to check it out if you feel you could use some decidedly deranged shooter action.
