Flashback, originally developed by the folks at Delphine Software (RIP), stunned gamers way back in 1992 with it’s gritty cyberpunk landscape and stunning rotoscoped animation. The game did exceptionally well, and even landed a spot in the Guinness World Records as the best selling French-developed title of all time. Now, Ubisoft is bringing the legendary cyberpunk adventure of alien intrigue and a quest for identity is making its way to the PC, PS3 and Xbox 360 next month. Developed by the same core-team that crafted the 1992 original, the game is taking advantage of current console technology to pull players into the alien landscape of Saturn’s moon Titan, the setting for the game’s adventure.
Ubisoft has announced today that they plan to include the original game along with the remake, so players can go back and experience the difference that 20 years of game development makes. Flashback will be available on August 21st on XBLA as part of the Summer of Arcade. The game will retail for 800 Microsoft points. The PS3 and PC versions will be released shortly afterwards this Autumn.
