On November 23rd, 2004  Blizzard Entertainment released World of Warcraft, which would become the world’s most successful massively multiplayer online game.

Originally announced at Blizzcon in September of 2001, World of Warcraft was released on the tenth anniversary of the Warcraft franchise. With over 12 million subscribers as of October 2010, in the six years since its release World of Warcraft has become the massively multiplayer game that all others are judged by. With two optional expansions already released, and a third, Cataclysm, to be released on December 7th, the world of Azeroth looks to be the major stomping ground for MMORPG enthusiasts for the foreseeable future.

Frank has been the caffeine-fueled evil overlord of HeyPoorPlayer since 2008. He speaks loudly and carries a big stick to keep the staff of the HPP madhouse in check. A collector of all things that blip and beep, he has an extensive collection of retro consoles and arcade machines crammed into his house. Currently playing: Chorus (XSX), Battlefield 2042 (XSX), Xeno Crisis (Neo Geo)
