Italian studio Forge Reply looks to bring dark and mature adventure to VR headsets with Theseus.
Developer Forge Reply today unveiled their latest VR project, Theseus. The Milan-based studio, who previously released Joe Dever’s Lone Wolf, describes Theseus as a “dark and mature representation of the Greek myth of the Minotaur, designed specifically for Virtual Reality.”
Detailing the project, Filippo Rizzante, Forge Reply’s Chief Technical Officer said via a press release: “Forge Reply is investing significant resources in the Virtual and Augmented Reality solutions for the business market. Theseus represents the logical next step and the first VR piece of content that the studio has developed for gamers and enthusiasts. Virtual Reality is the perfect platform for Theseus and the team is working hard to deliver an immersive and compelling experience.”
To celebrate the game’s announcement, Forge Reply has released a stunning 360 degree announcement trailer. The footage showcases the game’s protagonist as he stands in a pool of bubbling blood deep in the labyrinth. It does a good job of showcasing the title’s dark and foreboding atmosphere, and can be found below:
As of the time of this writing, Forge Reply has not announced which VR platforms Theseus will be heading to, but you can be sure we’ll let you know as soon as they’ve been confirmed.
