Sega goes hands-on with Sonic Boom at SDCC
SEGA has revealed that their newest Sonic the Hedgehog series, Sonic Boom is headed to this year’s San Diego Comic Con. Attendees of the convention who head on over to SEGA’s booth will be able to try out Demos of both the 3DS game Sonic Boom: Shattered Crystals and the Wii U game Sonic Boom: Rise of Lyric.
This announcement is related to an earlier announcement made by Nintendo, in which the company ensured that it would have “its biggest presence ever” at the convention. The playable demos are part of Nintendo’s wide-spreading presence.
Aside from the gameplay, Sega is also excited about the release of the new villain set to appear in the series; an ancient monstrous snake-like creature named Lyric. While not much is known about the new antagonist, SEGA promises that Lyric will be “the most vile and formidable villain in Sonic history”.
Both Sonic Boom: Rise of Lyric, and Sonic Boom: Shattered Crystals are set to release November 1st of this year.
