Serious Sam will be bringing his brand of over-the-top shooter mayhem to the Playstation 3 sooner than you think, according to a post yesterday on Seriously! from developer Croteam’s CEO Roman Ribaric.
“PlayStation 3 owners rejoice because Serious Sam 3: BFE for the PSN is closer than any of you think. Croteam has already submitted their request to Sony for approval of the finished product and for a worldwide release date. This is definitely coming in 2014.” said Ribaric. He goes on to state that the game’s planned release is slated for the fourth quarter of 2014. He also puts fans minds at ease assuring them the game will not feature any cowboys of big fluffy creepers making it into the game. Well, thanks for that, Mr. Ribaric! We’re quite relieved.
While it’s not quite a punctual release for the t-shirt sporting legend- after all the game blasted onto the PC in November of 2011, with an Xbox 360 port released the following in October- we’re still happy the trigger-happy gunslinger is finally making the rounds on PSN.
Croteam’s CEO also talked about Sam’s upcoming debut on mobile devices supported by the Tegra K1 (or higher) GPU in towards the end of 2014. The thought of having a full-fledged Serious Sam title in our pockets is certainly intriguing, and I can’t think of a better way to blow off some steam while on the go than smoking a few hundred alien baddies.
