Did Half-Minute Hero’s hyperactive and zany take on the Role Playing genre pull you in back when it landed on the PSP in 2009? If so, you might want to keep an eye on 100 Turn Hero, the latest game from Half-Minute Hero designer Kotaro Yoshida. Slated to land on the iOS in Japan next month, little is known about this upcoming time-constrained adventure, but we fully expect to see the same off-the-wall, 8-bit antics that made the source material such a treat.

Yoshida revealed a few details about 100 Turn Hero to the Japanese publication Famitsu which were translated by Siliconera. The game will be making its way to the iOS App Store on January 17th and will retail for 100 yen.

While details of the gameplay are scant, the name leads us to believe you may have to clear the game’s stages using only 100 attacks or less, which would be an interesting contrast to Half-Minute Hero’s frenzied, button-mashing mechanics.

There’s no word on a US release of 100 Turn Hero at the present time, but with Half-Minute Hero’s sequel never seeing a US localization we’re not exactly holding our breath to see this one land on the US App Store anytime soon.  We’ll be sure to let you know if a US release is announced in the future.
