Nintendo has announced today they will be making a new deluxe Wii U bundle available on November 1st that puts the emphasis on value. Retailing at 299.99, the new Wii U deluxe set will come packed with two of the Wii U’s biggest titles- New Super Mario Bros. U and New Super Luigi U- bundled together on one game disc. This new bundle will be phasing out the existing Wii U deluxe package that came with the Nintendo Land pack-in game.
Additionally, fans can still get their hands on the slick, Zelda-themed Wii U deluxe model that came out late last month to commemorate the release of The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker HD for a limited time while supplies last.
“Mario and Luigi are two of the biggest heroes in video games,” said Scott Moffitt, Nintendo of America’s executive vice president of Sales & Marketing. “This new Wii U configuration gives people instant access to not one, but two of the most well-received Wii U games. It’s another example of the tremendous value and variety that Nintendo is offering consumers this holiday season.”
One can only imagine a move like this is a good step towards garnering some sales this Holiday season in a market that’s sure to be owned by Sony and Microsoft when their next-gen contenders are unleashed next month. While we’re not sure if it’s going to make a huge difference in the grand scheme of things, it’s certainly a move in the right direction for Nintendo.
